Back in the depths of winter we wrote about the bluebird box project at the Wellfleet Dump. Actually, it was April, but it felt like winter when we met at the dump to raise money to get the project going!
Kathy Selleck, with the help of Joan Baker and Paul Renaud's scout troop, built and installed 30 bird boxes at the dump. We were first excited to see a nest with 3 blue eggs in it a few days ago. Then in early July we saw two bluebird fledgings with their parents hanging out at the landfill.
Good bird news from the dump! And sincere thanks to the efforts of all these volunteers who made it possible!
